MTD1080 I think. Has kind of a "clerc-ish" bezel. Very cool.

    Thanks for the photo.
A revamp of the MDV102? I think not. It's not a Marlin and it is not 200m resistant. I want to see it in person.

Casio's been quietly pushing out more analog models this year, including ones in Edifice, Sheen, Beside, and standard lines. Some of them are pretty good quality and/or having interesting features, these illuminator analogs (see below) are one of those. I guess there's a real market out there for affordable analogs, besides digitals, G-shocks and Protreks.

I just learned about these in the last few days too. It's been talked about in the affordable forum. https://forums.watchuseek.com/f71/new...s-2035282.html. Unfortunately, these have not hit the American market full on yet, mostly in Europe and Asia for now.

And yes, the MTD-1079 is the rebirth of the MDV-102!

Here are the major differences between the MDV-102 and the new MTD-1079.

    MDV-102:
200m WR. Uses a single CR2016 to drive both the movement and the LEDs (3 years life). LEDs are white in color. Has Marlin symbol.

    MTD-1079:
100m WR. Uses 1 SW920W for movement, and 1 CR1616 for LEDs (3 years life for both). LEDs are light blue in color. No Marlin!

So, both are expecting 3 years of battery life. For the MTD1079, I guess by using a dedicated battery for the LEDs would not bring down the movement, if it's over used. The hands and marks of the MTD1079 actually reassemble closer to the WVA320 (see below).

One major complain is the MTD1079 bracelet (see below), which basically belong to trash! It's the same/similar one used for many cheap Casio. The links are made obviously from folding a sheet of steel.

Been on the look for this one here in Indonesia too. But both local ad and grey sellers said they haven't got one yet.

    The watches look not bad.

But they are not real dive watches.

A dive watch must be 200m water resistant.

100m are only enough for swimming.
