    Thickness Variation in DW5600 Models

I am looking to get my first G-Shock and I like the look of the DW5600 model.

Is there any difference to the dimensions of the numerous variations of the DW5600 models?

For example, would the G-5600-1JF be thinner than the
DW5600E-1V. I have checked the specs and the 1JF seems to be 21.1mm thick, while the E1V seems to be 13.4mm?

One other question .. is the DW5600E-1V made in Japan?

I think there is an error on the Seiya san web page:
    http://www.seiyajapan.com/product/G-...apan_Made.html

which lists the thickness at 12.1mm while the Casio website looks consistent with the other GW5600 models. http://www.e-casio.co.jp/shop/goods/...ategory=101010

It looks like the DW-5600 is 1.3mm thicker. It's still thin for a G-Shock.

Thanks Lexxorcist ... I don't suppose that would own or have seen both models to be able to confirm that the thickness is actually different? There seems to be conflicting information around.

Here is a site that shows the Tough Solar as 13.7mm .. THICKER than the standard model!?

    13.7mm
    http://www.boston-c.com/SHOP/g-5600-1jf.html

    12.1mm

Well at least we have narrowed it down to 12.1mm, 13.4mm or 13.7mm!

I only own the DW-5600. The reason I don't have a G-5600 is because there have been reports of serious problems with the module. The problem may be rare, or even sorted out by now, but it still deters me from buying one. With a DW-5600 you really can't go wrong.

Now I am even more confused .. so the G is actually thicker than the DW? From the specs listed on some web-pages the G is thinner, but other sites thicker!?

If anyone can post a comparison photo that would be awesome!

Yes, indeed. The G5600 is a little bit thicker, but it's almost unnoticeable. Here you go.

    G5600 (Up)/DW5600 (Down):
