Off topic think about buying another seiko, anone can help?

i already have the skx007 and i am very satisfied with it. now sometimes its a bit too heavy and big to wear and i think about getting another seiko 5.

does anyone own or know the following models? i heard they are only WR to 30m, is this any problems to use in shower or swim with them? any comments are welcome!

    SNXL43K

    SNX809

    SNX427

    Hi Fonklover,

I do not have much Seiko experience, but I think the bottom left model will suit you most. The bottom right would be my second choice. No interest in a Monster? I like mine!

    Cheers,

Re: think about buying another seiko, anone can help?

    Fonk, I can help .

First, don't get the SNKL43K, as it would have the weakest lume, and has a bracelet unique to the case. These Seiko 5 bracelets aren't the best (folded link hair-pullers is a better term than 'bracelet'). My little 5 has a 18mm lug width, so finding straps/leathers is easy.

I'd go for the SNK427 first (like Sjors) then the SNK809.

And don't fret about the WR rating too much. I'm sure it would work fine after a shower, and some light swimming. Just don't wear if it if you're going to be doing diving board jumps/tricks. The crowns don't screw down and the presence of a display back are the main reasons for the low WR rating, as they rate it based on the weakest component.

    Here's my little Seiko 5:

Yep...that was a very cool one. But, it was necessary for me to get the funds to get this (in fact, that's the only reason I sold it...):

Interesting, my new Seiko SKA389 has a WR rating of 100, and it has a presentation back and the crown does not screw down. Mine even has a button to push to see the 'charge', as it is a Kinetic. I'm guessing it must be a gasket issue with the crown.

Ah, good point! Yeah, must only have like one gasket on the crown, vs yours probably has two, and I'll be the 200m's with the screw-down crowns have like 3.

I wonder if your display back uses a thicker crystal.

yes thats also my favourite. and i already have the bottom right, i wear it at this moment for work on a jubilee bracelet. its such a great watch, sepecially value for price is amazing. its the skx007 diver.

i know the monster, and i have to admit i played with the thought of getting the black version. from design i dont like the very fat indexes so much. but what a beater, what a monster!

    regards

thanks for the comments. thats a good point about the unique bracelet, cause i like to swap bands on my watches often.

but i have another question, i saw that you wrote SNKL43K, SNK427 and SNK809. while i wrote SNXL43K, SNX427 and SNX809. are these the same watches?
because it hink the SNK809 is a different watch from the SNX809... the K or X makes a different model???!!!
