    Thougher then a G-Shock?

I just saw this on e-bay:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/L-K-RARE-VINTAGE...|39:1|240:1318

That is a case belonging to the DW-3000 from the 1980's. I have seen pictures on the DW-3000 before but did not think much of it untill now when I see the pictures of the inside of the case.

That thing looks like it can take some serious beating, it is rated to 300 meters. It seems built like a tank . Perhaps the DW-5XXX was not the thoughest of the bunch back then . This one seems to be able to handle even more abuse then most G-Shocks!

Here is a picture of the watch itself:

Strange that this watch is pretty much unknown!

It may have a tough case, and it may be WR to 300M, but I doubt if it is actually tougher. It probably wouldn't handle the shock part of the test.

Wow - looks pretty cool I think :thanks for the pic and link. The case looks massive - I'd guess it's probably at least as durable as a G. But we will probably never find out because I don't think that somebody would perform a Tough Test on one of these vintage beauties.

dont forget, although a metal case is tougher than plastic/resin, it will also transmit vibrations/shocks more than plastic/resin, and if the module/inner case isnt protected like a G....

I was thinking the same thing. Didn't the early G's have a "floating" module design that gave them there shock resistance?
If so, I wonder if this model had it?

sounds like someone is gonna mod out the case from ebay. put a module and a crystal and ure good to go.
i with lee, the vibration aint going to go too kind for the module inside.
