    Thoughts on DW 9052

I have a $50 gift card for Amazon and I'm thinking of purchasing the 9052 black. I'd like to hear from others who own this watch to know pros and cons. Thanks

    Pro:
    - affordable
    - classic functionality like DW-5600 or DW-6900 (stw, CDT, alarm)
    - pivoting strap covers every wrist shape
    - dedicated light button

    con:
    - rides rather high on the wrist
    - pivoting strap pushes the watch in weird positions on some wrists

In general the design is very classic and one of the last 90s G-shock designs around.

Photobucket decided to lock my pics behind a 40$/month prescription service.
I used their services since 2009 so the most of my old threads have Photobucket pics inside.
If you stumble across one of those threads and want to see the pic, PM me and i will re-attach it.

Thank you D2mac. My first G-shock is an AWG-100 I'm hoping the 9052 is similar in size. I placed the order I figure for the price of free it is worth it.

Nice watch but nothing extra special. Very comfortable and for lowest price on the block totally worth the money.
Buttons may be hard to push for some people since they inside the "shroud".
For sure solid contender between DW5600 and some occasional 6900 on sale. 90s all around and i find it charming.

I have a couple 9052 models. I almost didn't think I'd like the watch before getting one, but i think the stock band is the most comfortable of any digital watch i have. Besides being the most comfortable, i like the auto-repeat timer that i wish was on every digital watch. It's not hard to navigate the features and buttons press easy.

Negatives i have found: it is usually off-time a few seconds more often than my $80-$90 G-shocks, so the seconds need reset more often. The screen is small and harder to see in lowlight or indoors without the light, but fine outside. It can be hard to see the alarm and PM indicators too. It's also chunkier than a G-square, not a low profile watch, but few g-shocks are.

Thanks all. I'll post when it is delivered. Another question does the alarm have a snooze function?

Darn. I guess that means I'll have to get up when the alarm goes off.

Get it,I have that very black example(DW-9052-1V) that came with the grey strap and black pleather padded material that houses the spring bars.
I did swap out the nylon strap for a new DW-6900 band that keeps the watch stable.this model screams Old School and it does what it was designed for perfectly.gives you the basics while getting the snot beat out of it,not a dresser queen.
