    Question Thoughts on the GW410TCJ-7?

I'm interested in getting the white Triple Crown, and would love to hear opinions from current/past owners. Also, does this model feature a countdown timer -- I can't seem to find any mention of one in the specs I've read this far. I'm also looking at the GW-9000 Multiband, but those five "eyes" bug me a bit. I like the idea of universal atomic timekeeping, but I don't see why all that screen real-estate has to be eaten up by those damn rings...

    Thanks in Advance,
    Adam

    Hi Adam -

I can't be much help here, except to say I have one sitting next to me in the box , GW-410TCJ-JR (Japanese Version) and it is certainly an awesome looking watch and uniquely different

I'm tempted to un-wrap and call it my own:-X :-D but I have tooooooo many G's already

    Re: Thoughts on the GW410TCJ-7?

the GW4x0 has a 60 min count down timer

the case is comfortable and wear well for smaller wrist size

the atomic function works with no problem in my "night stand test" (put the watch on my night stand and see if it receive signal ok. :-D mind you that not all atomic G passed my "night stand" test :-D )

some people complained about the "cheap feel" of the buttons but that didn't bother me at all

and i actually like the tuna can style case

too bad it doesn't have F measurement in temp though

the vib alarm is a littel weak if you wear the watch lose. otherwise, it was fine feature-packed G-Shock

on btw, zulu and adaptor probably won't work on the case (just in case you are wondering about it)

    Re: Thoughts on the GW410TCJ-7?

Thanks for the info, stockae92. Glad to hear that it has a countdown timer -- 60min is just fine for my needs . As for the "cheap" buttons, I could really care less, just so long as they work. Oh, and I'm sure the size wil be just fine as I do have relatively thin wrists for a 6', 180lb guy; and yes, I'm completely digging the "tuna can" look as well -- in fact, the case design, along with the atomic/solar-thing was what attracted me to this watch in the first place. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the more coveted models such as the Frogman (too busy looking), I can't stand ana-digis, and metal is a no-no as far as my G-Shocks are concerned (besides, I've already got the metal dive watch thing covered...). Needless to say, this has limited the selection of G-Shocks available to me somewhat, since I insist on having atomic/solar.

However, before I head over to hbwatches.com, does anyone want to chime in regarding the multi-band (aka, five-eyed monster)?

    Regards,
    Adam

    Re: Thoughts on the GW410TCJ-7?

I've had one for a while. I decided I needed a white watch for summer and bought this before I even considered the white Frogman. I don't think it's that small, smaller tahn a Frogman, but still chunky and substantial, plus the wide strap gives it a good feel. It does have tons of functions, one of the few "do it all" G-Shocks (atomic, solar, moon phase, tide graph, etc.) I think strap adapters and a Zulu would fit, bu tthe adapters are black (so they'd look weird) and I haven't tried it.

Sorry to bring an old thread up, but I really like the look of this watch. What does one expect to pay for one of these? I found one on an Australian online shop for about AU$250.

    That would be OO.COM.AU right?

This LE model has been out for a long time and I haven't seen it anywhere new for ages. They used to sell for about $200-$220US iirc, so this is not far off the mark, and given that they're now all but extinct, probably your only option apart from one popping up on Ebay or Yahoo Japan.

I have the green limited GW400-SF model and it's my favourite G-Shock model to date. I ended up buying this before the similarly priced Pathfinder PAW1300 if that tells you anything...may get one of those later however.
