Tough, Compass, Barometer- Which watch should I get that has these??

    Hey guys and girls,
Just after a bit of help selecting a watch. My needs
    1. Tough – Must take a beating
    2. Tough again – Must really take a beating
    3. Under $250 usd (Preferably under $200 usd)
    4. Solar powered preferred or decent battery life
    5. WR at least to 100m
    6. Compass
    7. Barometer
    8. Stopwatch
    9. Time
Anything else is a bonus. Would like to be able to put a zulu on it as well as I can be a sweaty guy when it heats up. Would love a G but don’t know of many that have barometer and compass. Was thinking a pathfinder PAG 240 B – 2CR but seems to get mixed reports re button quality and screen res, and barometer/compass accuracy. Am open to other brands just don’t know much about them. Have never had an ABC before, only a couple of G’s which I loved. I know the compass on a watch is no substitute for a dedicated compass, same for barometer, however would like both for those ‘just in case’ moments while in situations were neither is available, but both required.
Anyways, thanks for reading and all your thoughts.
    Cheers

I would go with the PRG-240. Have you seen Queen6's review about it?

Regarding your description I would go for any Casio ProTrek.
The most popular in this forum for it's toughness is the PRG-80.
I've abused my PRW-1300 and has taken the beating quite nicely, so for my personal experience, the PRW-1300 series are also recommendable.

    Brands:

    Casio / Citizen / Mido / Orient / Tissot / Suunto / Seiko / Hamilton / Titan / Bucherer

    +1 for the PRG 80

Mine survived being launched from a summer toboggan down an Austrian mountainside a lot better than I did.

The Barometer & especially the Altimeter are accurate. The temperature is way off whilst wearing it.

Can get them pretty cheap too, mine was about £80.00 a year or so ago from a Casio UK AD.

My first thought was Protrek/Pathfinder (or Suunto, if accurate readings are prior to timekeeping features and ruggedness), i only know the PRG 40, 50 and 70 firsthand. The 50 is good, but wears big on my wrist, the 40 is superb, but belongs to my father and the 70 has good functionality but is not my cup of tea (design-wise). Second thought was: Wait for the new mudman - but it lacks the barometer, i think.

Yeah I have seen a couple, they are really good reviews. He seems to like the 240 and the 80. I will probably try and search some more of his and might ask what he reckons.

You should definitely get a PRG-80. I own both 80 and the 240; 80 is stronger...
