    Tough? and Silly? question?

Given the choice, what would you prefer; a $5500 new Rolex Submariner OR $5500 worth of new G Shocks of your choice?

    Mmmmmmmm?

( Poll says '$2300' which I cannot edit, please assume Rolex is new, $5500 and your choice of G Shocks for the same $5500 )

At $2300 the Rolex would have to be used so I'd take the G's I think. That wouldn't go very far if you just bought rare Frogmen and vintage G's.

My apologies, I did not know how much Rolexes are.
The one I found must have been secondhand.

Please assume for the poll that Rolex is NEW $5500 OR $5500 worth of G Shocks?

No worries! My decision would still be the same. I'd go for the G's. I'd like a Rolex but wearing one everyday would make me nervous that it would be lost, stolen or broken. $5500 worth of G's is a LOT of G-Shocks though.

No brainer. I would take anything $5500 than an overhyped Rolex.

G-shocks all the way for the following reasons:
    • I've never seen a Rolex that I didn't think was ugly or grotesque
    • I'd hate wearing a $5500 watch around worrying about damage or loss
    • servicing the Rolex would cost a fortune
    • Rolex are all about prestige will little functionality
    • You could buy a top of the range Oceanus, MR-G, Pathfinder and still have heaps left over to buy numerous fine G's to suit every occasion

I prefer to have more nice watches than one nice-but-overpriced watch
No one ever works out and regrets it. You never go for a run, and then when you're finished, wish you would have stayed home. You never climb a mountain, get to the top, and say, "I should have just been content to stay where I was."

That's and easy one as I am not a Rolex fan.

Wink Re: Tough? and Silly? question?

This is easy for me. I think I have spend multiple times a Rolex on G-Shock's. If I wanted a Rolex, I could have had probably a few. I love G-Shock!!! (but what's new)

    Cheers,

    Sjors
