    Typical g-shock accuracy?

Not seeing any current threads on the topic, I chose to create a post. I purchased my GLS-5600CL in January of this year. It is the cold weather G-Shock and its intent is mostly for skiing. This being my first and only quartz watch as an adult, I am not sure what common accuracy results are with these.

I set the watch to the atomic clock in January after I opened it out of the box. It is now +1 second and it is now May 1st.

Anyone else experience this with their g-shock or other quartz watches?

    Tim

Luck of the draw maybe but not that much since quartz watches are already very accurate by default. I don’t even bother measuring the accuracy of my watches anymore - as long as they are still accurate to the minute to the phone clock or at least are running fast instead of slow when I happen to compare them to the phone clock. This includes my automatics.

I get between 0.20 - 0.25 seconds per day very consistently (no sync). My best mechanical is 4X worse and the G costs but a fraction.

I also have a GLS-5600CL-1. Mine runs slow about 1.5 seconds per month currently. It's my only G that runs slow.

My other Gs vary from less than 1 second fast to about 10 seconds fast per month.

My GWG1000 is .5 seconds fast according to the internet but I'm not sure if there is a delay relaying from the atomic clock and my phone.

+/- 1, 1.5 seconds is pretty damn good. My 1 non-atomic G (MRG-100T) typically gains 15 secs/month but does much better when I wear it, still, not close to 1 sec / month. I'd be thrilled with that performance. I'm not ready to do the trimming thing with it yet, too much of a PITA.

Mine is off a few seconds a month on the slow side but then it's a DW 5200 I bought in 1983 so I'd call it very good.

My G-Shock's usually run fast. 5 months and only +1, I think it's defected. LOL.
