    Off topic UK Watch Prices

Well, not totally off-topic, but not G-Shocks.

I laughed out loud over this. That's a little bit more than I paid!

Perhaps it's because of the additional features my watch doesn't have; contrary to the text on the face, the description says this has a quartz movement. It's also 'splashproof'.

Yes, I've seen this - incredible, isn't it? Has to be a mistake, surely?
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

Got to be I would think, I wouldn't have thought even Argos would be charging that sort of price. ........

Seems like a bad time to buy watches in the UK. They are much more expensive than the US and now that the pound is dropping in value, it's even more expensive to import from the US (once you include Customs/Tax and the damn handling charges). :(

No just watches. There has long been a belief over here that we just get ripped off for pretty much everything. But at the end of the day, the retailers are just charging what we are apparently prepared to pay. Having said that, I'm sure we would all be happy to pay less; its just seldom get the opportunity.

I suppose we're a small market compared to the States. UK prices in general are similar to those in the rest of Europe. In fact, when I'm in Poland I find that watches are notably more expensive than in England.

Would have been great if it were water resistant, but not splashproof.

its not belief, its fact! thats why i nearly always buy my watches abroad, not to mention the laughable choice (of G-Shocks) local jewellers have.
