Hi G-freaks.. just want to share probably the best day of my life.. yesterday.
I was at the neighborhood 2nd hand store looking for cases and boxes to customize.. and i came across these 2 Gems! Not cases.. but the contents inside..
A super clean G-5600A-7.. and an amazing G-5500JC-9DR. what you see is what i got. no boxes nor manuals.
So i snapped them up on the after a brief inspection and 2 minute bargain negotiation.
Price for these 2 = Average price of a DW-6600.
Anyway.. when i brought them home i took them apart and gave the bezels and straps a good scrub and cleaned out all traces of previous owner's DNA.
So here's the haul. Enjoi!
White out G-5600A-7
Flawless crystal and bezel
Clean back case with very little signs of wear.
Yellow camo G-5500JC-9DR Jam'in Color
Slight ding on the bezel.. crystal's clean
Fairly worn back case
I've never had a white watch before.. and knowing how i cant take care of whiteys.. i figure the 5600 might end up as an experimental watch.. probably with a negative LCD and dyed resin.. perhaps.
a ferrari red bezel would be sweet as hell. but i've never done dye project before.. so it might take some time and courage while i do some research.
And the 5500 would most likely go to my buddy who has been bugging me to break my complete set of Jam'Im 5500s. Coincidentally he wants the yellow one.
And earlier in the day.. i went to collect my DW-8300-1V from Casio Service.
i was surprised when i called them last week in an attempt to save my stargate's dead EL and broken rubber seal.
A quick check with the repair dude and he said he could save it with a new module and replacement seal.
