    Uncomfortable Gulfman Strap Cure

If you are one of the people who find the G-9100 Gulfman strap to be very uncomfortable, I have a possible cure for you. I tried a DW-9052 strap last night, and it fit perfectly on the Gulfman without modification. The DW-9052 strap is very similar in both shape and size to the stock G-9100 Gulfman strap. It doesn't have the lettering on the strap though, and more importantly, it doesn't have the second row of ventilation ribbing, that can really bite into your tender wrist. If your only complaint against the G-9100 strap is that nasty second rib, I strongly suggest that you give the DW-9052 strap a try. I will attempt to take pictures late this afternoon, and post them this evening. The strap is very close to a perfect match for the Gulfman case.

It also looks like many different Casio straps will fit the G-9100 Gulfman. Basically, just about any non-resin strap should fit. I tried a DW-004 style leather/nylon strap, and it also fit quite well.

Thanks for sharing the info! Yep, the second rib thing is my only complaint of the Gulfman.

Sounds like an interesting project... can you post "before" and "after" pic?

Okay here are some pics. The first is a before pic of the stock Gulfman strap, where you can see the extra row of ribbing contacting the wrist.

The second pic shows the 9052 strap. It's almost identical from this angle, but has no second row of ribbing.

The remaining pics are of the Gulfman with the 9052 strap.

Thanks for the pics! The 9052 band does look more confortable, looking at the 2nd pic it looks wider at the top. Where do you think the band would be cheaper, direct from Casio or CasioSalesAndService?

My bet is that direct from Casio is always cheapest.

    Re: Uncomfortable Gulfman Strap Cure

Took your advice Buzzbait, thanks. Looks good and more important much more comfortable. I had tried the adapters for using a zulu type strap, but I could not get them all the way into the case for the screws to thread into them. Don't know if I didn't force it enough but I gave up, this was better.

Thanks for the tip. I just tried it and it works great and definitely more comfortable. Any idea if it will work with a mudmans?
