Used an app to sync my GW2310FB today

I discovered an app that claims it can emulate the NIST time signal atomic GShocks use to set themselves. Tried it this morning at work and it lived up to the claim. Couldn’t believe it. The app on Android is called WWVB Emulator for those interested. Not sure if available on iOS.

JJY emulator for JDM models and WWVB emulator work great using phone speaker on max for me. I've seen people set up external speakers but I have never had the need. Yeah, great functioning apps that sync watch in 3-4 minutes. I hope these apps remain available for the long haul because I do use them.

Can these apps be setup to update the watch automatically every night?

I've tried and had no luck, the ability for such an app timer would be nice or if someone had a workaround

Re: Used an app to sync my GW2310FB today

I have looked at the WWVB Emulator app. The flaw is that it uses the time on the Android device rather than actual atomic time for setting the radio-controlled watch or clock. On my Android devices, the time can vary a lot from atomic time.

In the application notes it says the following:

    Note
It can not correspond to the atomic clock. Please adjust the NPC time with other apps.

Apparently the G-Shock Connected app uses actual atomic time when setting the target watch.

I was afraid of that... manual updates only....if it could work automatically there would be no need for the bluetooth watch (IMO)

those not in a time zone that has reception will still need to set their times to another city. bluetooth sync automatically sets the time no matter where you are.
your statement should be "with bluetooth (or gps), theres no need for multiband" ;)
