    Vintage non G purchase

I thought I'd quickly share this one, not a G but a lovely old Casio AD-717.

I can't find hardly any info about this one, although I have had one a few years ago from eBay that I bought non working and sent to Casio UK, who said the module was shot electronically so couldn't fix it, and I never asked them to send it back as I didn't see the point.

I think these were touted as diver's watches and seem to recall seeing a Casio ad with a scuba diver wearing it underwater?

I also like it because of the unusual left hand crown, rather than right handed. Not sure if these have a screw down crown?

I did a Best Offer at €60, (£54), and got it accepted straight away.

Apparently the right hand button doesn't work, so hopefully it's either literally stuck or the module is caught on it.

I just need a nice brown leather strap as I think that's what these originally had anyway and I can just swap the buckle onto it.

The bezel has light scratches, but as normal I think these have been picked up more by the camera than the eye can see, and the crystal looks pretty much unmarked.

So here she is in a few photos by the seller:

Sweet looking watch, first Casio I've ever seen with an E6B.

That is such a cool ana-digi. Congrats!!
I also find myself intrigued with vintage Casio's lately. I got this AW-61 in almost NOS condition for 40 EUR.

It is the what the flight computer bezel is call. Basically a round slide rule. Some Breitlings have them.

    Ah, ok.

Well, it doesn't mean much to me really, I will just wear it on occasion and enjoy having it.

Very cool and interesting piece. Congrats! The two tone with the blue dial is sharp.

Encourage someone. The world has enough critics.

Nice grab, sodamonkey. That AD-717 has a solid looking build about it and that E6B dial is a very unusual sight. Would be cool to figure out how to use it, in your spare time.

    Cheers!

I swear when I got the non working one before that I somehow managed to find more info on it, even just some marketing information and year of manufacture would be nice!!
