Smile Vive le roi! (but I don't speak french)

Well within one week or so of making my initial introductions here on WUS forums (https://forums.watchuseek.com/f17/new...1325834-2.html), I've acquired two new G's, and mainly by luck.

First off, I should qualify that I'm from the Caribbean, so G's are around, but can often be pricey through local retailers. Also, watch collectors down here are few and far between (much less for G-Shock collectors). Most acquisitions have to come from online shopping, or through one-or-two reliable G-shock dealers (again, $$$).

So mere days after acquiring my G5500-TS (by "luck"), I walked into another simple watch shop, hoping just to survey some new models they may have had.

At first I spotted a G6900KG-3 (my hand reached out to pocket for wallet simultaneously). As I was inspecting the 6900, then the goodly sales-woman pulls out....
    ......a GR7900KG-3!

I've been wanting one of these KG-3 iterations for a long time and I like the neg. LCD display, so the decision was already a torturous one:

    VS

Then it got worse - I suppose the sales-woman sensed the impending purchase, so she pointed me towards the "king" that they had in stock.

I stood in that store, stared at all three watches. Took me just over 6.10 minutes (courtesy the 5600E on my wrist) to decide on my purchase:

Just comparing the 5600E to the GX, the size difference is amazing. I honestly ended up choosing the King mainly since I'm a fan of the square look, and the heft of it - felt heavier than either the 6900 or the 7900 (IMHO).

That said, I have a feeling I may be adding a G6900KG-3 to my arsenal very soon

Thanks guys. Actually, my wife has been funding my addiction! She ended up buying the GX for me, and offered to buy the 6900 also.
I declined the second offer out of guilt (or caution!)

All nice pieces. I own the 6900KG and 7900KG and love em. I've been on the hunt for a 5600KG and GX-56KG for a while now, but haven't been able to locate either one for a decent price.

The G-5600KG-3 is going for top dollar now. When I sold mine last year I thought I did good by selling it for what I paid.....$85
I am a idiot for selling it so cheap.

Long live the King. I had 9 of them (four GX-56-1A, three GX-56-4A, one GX-56-1B and one GXW-56-1B). Now I have only GXW...

I missed my chance to snag one at auction on eBay which ended ~$150. I believe I was at work at the time. I also missed the 5600KG on eBay that ended ~$120. Now your lucky to see one listed for under $300. Not that they are selling at those prices, but still.
