Question warranty when bought from international ebay seller?

    Hi all.

I bought 2 new casios(1 a g-shock) off ebay, both power sellers being in Hong Kong. This was a few months back.

In both of the little accompanying instruction booklet is written:

"This warranty certificate is valid only for service in the country of purchase."

So if I bought it from someone in HK, and I am in Australia, where is the country of purchase?

Also, would a printout of the ebay invoice be sufficient proof of purchase for the warranty?

    Thanks!

    Hi DW-5600E,

I have asked myself this question also several times, but I have never had a faulty G-Shock from such a seller. Most of those HK power sellers have excellent service though, so I think you can work out something with the seller if something turns out to be defect.

    Cheers,

Very good question. I have thought about buying from a couple of sellers from either Hong Kong or Japan, and wondered the same thing. Aside from the high shipping costs( I know, international shipping and all, but still ) I was curious if the warranty would still be valid once it was shipped to a different country.

    hi buddy
i just went thru the same thing with a g shock from singapore
with the warranty you are srewed as you bought it of ebay and not from a retail outlet and the warranty is international and that doesnt count for australia
so you will have to buy a g shock from a retail out let her in western australia and use the warranty from that watch to fix your other two
or just buy a new one you get them that cheap of ebay

    Hi5!

    Forget it!

These sellers offer very cheap G-Shock's, looks like a quarter of what they sell for in Australia.

You buy and forget form these people. No back up.

If you want the full monty, I think you are best to walk into your local Amies, and purchase over the counter.

At least you get a nice Sheila to strap your watch on you :-D
