Question Which watch next: GW-6900 or Riseman?

I'm new to G-Shocks, apart from the 5600C which I've had since a kid. Since then I've cleaned it up and enjoy wearing it, and I also have a Protrek PRG-40 which I enjoy for its fabulously legible display. So they're my current 2 Casios.

Next I would like to try a Solar Atomic, and I'm thinking of either a GW-6900 or a Riseman.

Which of those two would you get, and why? I'm not intending to get both, so no easy answers there

The Riseman gets my vote, mainly because I'm a "function" guy. Don't get me wrong, the 6900's a classic through and through, but it's a pretty basic watch.

Can't really go wrong either way, though. Good luck!

Somehow I feel that you would change your mind and end up getting the other watch, after getting the first-choice watch
No one ever works out and regrets it. You never go for a run, and then when you're finished, wish you would have stayed home. You never climb a mountain, get to the top, and say, "I should have just been content to stay where I was."

GW-6900 gets my vote: you already own an ABC (I know, the Riseman is only AB...).
I had a Riseman for a few weeks because I liked the
appearance but the 6900 syncs a lot easier, has (optical) bigger font and I think the red eye is a little distracting. On the inside the GW also looks a lot 'rougher': more like the old designs of the 6600/6900.

And o yeah, it's a classic and has some real wrist presence
(but I also like the design of the Riseman; a little more futuristic and in line with Casio's new design philosophy, but it's (virtual) a lot smaller and because of that I sold it)

Yes, I forgot to ask about the relative sizes, thanks for reminding me Does anyone have a pic of the two side by side?

    Pics from the net:

    click1 (a DW-6900 instead of a GW)

click2 (DW6900 on top, Riseman in the middle)

Fab, thanks! I guess the DW is exactly the same size as the GW? It's just a module change.

    The GW is slightly thinner.
