Hmmm tough choice. My first reaction was the 1300, but the other two would be lower key. I think I might choose the Gulfman.
    Wear what you like.

    hi all!

difficult choice, it depends on what you mean to do there, my two cents:

if orientation and weather forecast is crucial to your plans, (old style trekkings, non GPS assisted, mountaneering). If your life may be on these, take the 1300 and some backup gear.

if not,(people, places&photos) no doubt, the mudman will be a good fellow.

in any case, have a nice trip and stay safe!

    greetings

My first choice was the pathfinder, but in the vein of being low-key, I say the mudman. the multiple stopwatches and big cdt make it a good choice for a vacation (how long till a 'show' starts, etc).

1300 because it may help you the navigate

    2nd choice is GW9000

for me, i always take at least 2 watches, 1 of them as a backup

    Re: Which watch to wear...

How will you be traveling? On your own or in a tour? I spent a month in India a few months back and traveled around the country by train, car, auto rickshaw, you name it. before getting to India I purchased a PRG-120 protrek in Singapore and it stayed in my bag the whole time. I wasn't ready to expose my new watch to the elements and sometimes crowded conditions of India. I wore a G-5500 everyday and it took a fair amount of abuse in the streets. India is a magical place but it can be hot, dusty, smoggy and in some places, dirty. If you are not concerned about exposing your watches to some bumps and bruises by all means wear what you like but keep in mind your watch WILL get banged, bumped, dirty and dusty like any good G-Shock should. I hope you have a great time. I sure did.

    Re: Which watch to wear...

Thanks guys! This will be our fist trip to India. We will be staying with friends and they will be showing us around. Not really a tour but not on our own. The only time we will be on our own is when we head to Jaipur, New Delhi and at the Taj Mahal. The rest of the time we will friends at a wedding, 5 days of partying! If my watch will get banged around I'll feel safer with a G instead of the Pathfinder. Maybe I'll bring the Pathfinder and the Gulfman Thanks again guys!

Have a great trip Chris. Jaipur is crazier than Delhi.

I was careful with the Protrek only because the face is so much larger than a G-shock, except maybe a frog. Enjoy the great food. It's awesome.
