Are there any casio watches that have an infinite amount of power? Are these the solar watches? Are there any G-Shoco solar watches or ones with quartz crystals?

+1, eventually the battery will go, it will stop holding a charge (years down the road). And even before then, G-Shock bezels and straps will need to be replaced, though this is years down the line.

Even a non solar watch has infinite lifespan... all you have to do is replace battery every 5 to 10 years... This usually cost no more than 5 bucks and takes less than 10 min to do...

Again, as far as I'm concerned, solar is overrated...

Cheers

This topics always devolves into this. If you were using atomic synch and other features such as auto EL, the non-solar battery will not last 5 years. I have a non-solar, atomic Casio (non-G) that I never wear...it just runs and synchs and the battery doesn't last two years.

A mechanical watch given the proper care can last an infinate amount of time given the owners willingness to service/repair it.

My atomic G is going on 9 years and has not needed any replacement battery or anything (knock on wood).

Parts are not generally held for much more than thirty years, and after that there will be a diminishing supply. Only the likes of Patek will re-manufacture parts and there are very few specialists who can re-manufacture parts.

Try taking a fifty year-old watch to a jeweller for repair... ;-)

maybe he/she wants to know if there is a watch you can put 20+ years in a drawer and forget it.. than remember, put it out and its still going..
i think thats a scenario no watch can do.

what do you all think?

if that's the case, the the old-school g-shocks will do that. go on ebay and you'll see a lot of DW-5000, 5200, 5600, 5700's out there still on the original battery. This is all before EL and still the tiny light bulb in the corner of the watch. although, 20 years will be at the tail end of the lifespan

For that scenario it'd definitely have to be a digital quartz movement with a large conventional battery, but even then it would be very, very, unlikely. I'm pretty sure I've heard reports on here of people finding very old Casios in a drawer, etc. that are still going. Not sure if they were 20 years old though.
