Exclamation WatchShock.com site issues -- no info!

Has anyone visited WatchShock lately? I periodically go to the GShock section and noticed recently how there's no longer any watch information displayed -- only images. And if you click on any buttons on the top menu, they either don't do anything or throw an internal server error.

This is really bad. WatchShock has been such a great encyclopedia of G-Shock watch information. Now it's just photos...

By the way, there is My GShock Wiki, but that site hasn't been updated for 5+ years now, plus it's not accurate. For instance, I'm quite certain that the GW-2310 was released in the year 2000, along side the G-2300. But it's not in the list.

According to PacParts, the first GW-2310 was released in 2009. For the G-2300 they show 2000.

Also, a quick Google search of f17 shows no threads about the GW-2310 before 2010.

I've noticed the same issue. Lately I go to the wiki to get what info I can, accurate or otherwise. I haven't experimented with different browsers yet to see if that makes a difference.

Interesting. But strange. Weird that the GW-2310 came out in 2009, after the GW-9100 having a more modern appearance and functionality. Maybe it's because CASIO was lazy and had the GW-2310 inherit a great deal from the G-2300 having been released in 2000.

OK, we can totally ignore my postulation about the minimum year having anything to do with the release year of a G-Shock. I was dead wrong.

I do think PacParts has pretty accurate info, so you're right Gary... the GW-2310 was release in 2009.

I researched a sampling of several G-Shock watches I own, for release year and settable year ranges. Here's a table of the data:

Watch Release Year Minimum Year Maximum Year
    GW-2310 2009 2000 2099
    GW-9100 2007 2000 2099
    GL-7500 2005 2000 2039
    GL-110 2000 1995 2039
    MRG-1 1996 1995 2039

Re: WatchShock.com site issues -- no info!

    Hey everyone,

Xevious just messaged me and I was able to get all the watch specifications back online. Sorry about the issues with the site. The site was hacked a while back and I've had to rebuild the whole thing which was made over many years. There's still a lot of work to do and I plan on supporting it forever. Just wasn't planning on having to deal with this problem.

Please message me if anyone wants to help or give any feedback.

And the G-Shock Wiki works just like Wikipedia. Anyone can make edits and add new information.

Watches are just what I do for fun in what little spare time I have after founding a tech startup. Hope you understand.
