To wear or not to wear? G5600KG-3CR

    Howdy!

I need some informed opinions due to a Gshock dilemma I found myself in. I currently own only one g5600kg and it's been discontinued for a few years now. It only has some minor scuffs but is in good condition and has been stored for most of its time.

My dilemma is should I wear it as a daily beater or preserve it to sell later on? I like the watch but I figured since it's not in mint condition I'd probably not get much for it...but maybe in 5 years the value will go up?

I think if you want to wear it, go for it. It may or may not ever become a coveted model, so it's hard to comment on that aspect. I may not make it a daily beater, but I'd definitely give it some wrist time.
Encourage someone. The world has enough critics.

I wouldn't be expecting to rake in some meaningful profit flipping a square down the road. Unless it's titanium, or certain anniversary squares like the DW-1983.

I wear mine any time it will go with what I'm wearing.
They may have been discontinued a while ago, but I picked up a new one on holiday in Orlando this year for $100.
It was one of my grail watches and I was surprised to see it sitting at a watch dealer.
I love the colour combo and enjoy wearing it when I have an olive t-shirt and black jeans with some olive vans on.

I have the naval themed GW-M5610NV-2 also, this probably sees more wrist time as it's easier to match to my clothes.

The bezel is still not restricted at PacParts and can be ordered. But the strap is marked as restricted. I'd get a spare bezel, as that tends to get the most wear (knocking into things). Or you can order the bezel and band for the G5600A-3, which is also a kind of green...

Funny enough, the G5600NV-2 version in Navy has both bezel and band available, not restricted. This is what puzzles me about PacParts, how their restricted parts policy is not uniformly enforced. I actually don't mind it that way, because it does allow at least some options that otherwise wouldn't be available. But IMHO, there shouldn't be anything restricted except for the more expensive limited editions that could or tend to be forged.

Thanks for all the insight, I think I'm leaning towards just wearing it. I do like that navy blue GW-M5610NV so maybe that'll be in my future.

Realistically tho, I paid $100 for this watch, is it just too far fetched that it would be worth $500 in the future or is that too hopeful? I own a mint condition Swiss Army Agassi that I've never worn and I don't think it's gone up in value at all, haha...which was why I didn't want to make the same mistake with this Gshock.

It's good that you're planning on wearing it. If you're that worried about damaging the bezel and strap, then like others here have suggested you can get extras from Pacparts or American Perfit. The problem with American Perfit is that their ordering system is somewhat antiquated. Call them, person on the other line takes the order and your card number. That's it. They don't give you an order number or anything. You just have to wait till your order arrives.

Tiktox also carries the 5600kg bezel and strap for a reasonable price and they ship quickly.

The last option would be to remove the olive bezel/strap and replace it with another color. The olive parts can stay in your safe until the day that you're ready to use it. I, like many here, have a selection of differently colored bezels and straps. It only takes a few minutes to swap out the parts and you can beat on them instead of the olive parts.
