What is/are the best deal(s) under X dollars? (“street price”)

-- the Original title was 'What's the best deal under X dollars? ("street price")' --

I think we can all agree on this one.

    Best deal under $100:

    GW-M5610-1: $91 shipped from Amazon.

For other values of “X”, what’s the best deal out there? “Street price” is not MSRP of course, it’s the price that you can reliably get on demand, any day of the year.

(Also, I’m curious: if these “street prices” are very different in other parts of the world, how different are they, and why?)

For some, a GW-6900-1 at $76.50 (today's Amazon price) may be a better deal. It has a dedicated light button, 3-second option for the EL backlight, and dual time capability.

At $200, I'd pick the Rangeman GW-9400-1. It has the most features at this price point.

I look for at least 20% off retail and usually get it.

I like my GW-2310 and GW-6900 much, much better than my GW-M5610. It's not even close and both can be had for under $100.

You're absolutely right. I guess the prompt should be "what are the best deals under X," because even if the GW-6900 cost $20 more, some people are going to prefer that shape over the GW-M5610's classic square shape.

I have to agree, the Rangeman GW-9400 at under $200 is pretty untouchable.

Yeah, it's almost like squares should be in their own category. I've passed on these models in favor of smaller non-square Gs, like the G-7700 and the GW-M850, but even these mid-size non-squares have some distinct advantages over a square: more buttons with the addition of a front-facing light button, and generally easier buttons to use than the small metal pushers on a square.

Good idea, but I'm not clear how this is different to the main deals thread, which has always struck me as being about discounts under RRP / good street prices.

Edit: Oh I see, I think - it's specifically about the best deal under $100?

The “deals” thread is for time-limited opportunities to buy for a cheaper-than-usual price. This thread is for talking about which models are a particulay great value at their usual, everyday price.

I’m curious what people think is the best everyday bargain at $300, for instance. Is there a Frogman that can be had for $300?
