What did you spot today (WDYST)? The Casio and G-Shock sighting thread

not a good start for the thread... i met my friend for lunch who normally sports a G but had his garmin on today! he had to leave early to go charge it :p so i ventured to the mall and spotted a white ga110 and a hyper colour pink ga110 on a couple korean girls then stopped at my favourite window shopping window and spied the gd mrg with the gold bits, way better irl they also had the gold gpw, not bad either.

side note: spotted a smart watch on a homeless looking guy, not hipster homeless but old homeless. it clashed nicely with his fur lined german army jacket in 28C heat lol

Unfortunally i only see the same 2 other collegues at work wearing a G every day.
Since its long sleeves time here, its hard to see a watch on the street at all.

Sighted around 8 Gs on commute yesterday. Some GA-1xx, 6900s, a suspected green Mudmaster and white G-mix.

I saw two today at the Winchells. One was a white GA 100 I think. I don't remember the other one.

Re: What did you spot today (WDYST)? The Casio and G-Shock sighting thread

bus driver was wearing an f91w today, wanted to give him the thumbs up for it but thought he mightve thought i was being a smart ass for liking his $15 watch lol

guy visiting my floor had a aw591 of some kind, tried to follow him but lost him in a crowd heading to a meeting room. wasnt game enough to chase him then go "what?? this isnt my meeting!" lol

also while i was visiting another buildnig, i saw 2 different ladies prob pushing 50 with smart watches. def. looked completely out of place with their "sunday best" florals and i doubt theyd even wear a watch with their tarnished gold bangles but i did notice she was trying to catch a glimpse of my watch as we spoke (without making it obvious) as well as looking at my colleagues who had a timex.
this got me thinking, if smart watches are getting ppl (back?) into watches then it could be a good thing for watches in general right?

i was also speaking to the clerk while picking up the gdxs yesterday and she mentioned she normally wears a smart watch when shes not at work (her work watch being some gaudish blingy thing with fake diamonds) but when it came to going overseas she went straight for a baby G knowing how tough they were. so it would seem smart watches do serve some purpose ;) and gs arent a dying breed.

Went to a computer store the other day, and saw one of the nerds wearing a GBA-400 in red. G is a rare sight here (unless you go to a police station ), not to mention a Bluetooth G, so it's truly a rare sight.

Some people are weird,I once asked a guy in a supermarket what his timepiece was and he was apparently offended since he walked away upset.I have noticed in the last several days a W800H casio at a farmers market and a clerk at comvience store was sportin a F105 casio,no recent G Shocks yet.

    Cheers

Not just him . . . it seems like near everyone in NYC is wearing an Apple Watch nowadays. As a fan of watch spotting in the wild, I have never before seen so many of the same type of watch appear on so many wrists.

It's sad that I haven't seen a G in a while. A few weeks ago I spotted a few basic squares and 6900s and perhaps a few of the inexpensive but obscure basic models, the model numbers of which escape me.

G-Shock doesn't seem to be that big in the big Apple now. :<
