What is the difference between MTG & GIEZ series?

Other than some cosmetic differences, can someone tell me what the differences are between the MTG series and the GIEZ series? The bracelets on the MTGs appear to be nicer than the GIEZ but the internal features seem to be the same.

In short, there really is very little difference between the GIEZ and MTG models - they both have analog characteristics, have the 5-motor technology in the movement, and have similar personalities. They are also similar in price (street price, at least).

In the analog G-Shock world, you'll find that the MRGs came out first, then the "low-end" GIEZ models. My guess is that Casio found the popularity of the GIEZ models a welcome surprise, and decided to position something in between - alas, the metal twisted G line.

In my opinion, there has been a little too much crossover between the MTG and GIEZ lines, but I can see that Casio is trying to change that with the new GS1200 and MTG1500 models.

No CDT on any of the Giez models, day of week on the MTGs, not on all Giez models. Not all the Giez are 5 band there are even some non-solar and non-atomic Giez models. All the rest I'd consider cosmetic.

Yep, for example the mtg's have a plastic case unlike the giez which are SS metal cased.

I thought it was the other way around with the MTG's having the SS case. I kinda like the nifty SS/resin composite bracelet...

Giez is all metal with the resin cosmetics around it and the MTGs have metal with resin sandwiched between.

I also think most GIEZ have straps while all MTGs have bracelets.

To the untrained eye, you're absolutely right.

The Giez is a stainless steel screwback. The MTG is an expensive plastic watch.
