Question What to Do With A Seaman Surprise

I won a Seaman in an auction with really bad pictures and no other bids. The watch came yesterday and I was surprised.

So surprised that I'm not sure my plan to immediately dye the thing is appropriate.

I'm not a collector, and this is a nice example of a W.C.C.S. seaman, DW-9950. It's a small titanium Froggie.

I had great fun taking it out of the original packaging but I need some reinforcement before I toss this baby in a pot of dye. It seems kind of rare.

What should I do with it? I'm considering the following options:

    a) Dye it black and wear it! (fun)
    b) Dye it blue and wear it! (fun)
    c) Leave it unchanged and wear it! (fun: I don't mind the clear jelly, at least until it yellows)
    d) Preserve it in the box for posterity. (not fun but maybe = PROFIT?!??)

That is a great-looking dye job. I like how the WCCS link stands out against the black.

    Thank you for the pic!

If it was up to me, I would dye it black but paint the bezel lettering stock-white.
    Cheers!

The Clear resin is in very good shape...so wear it and when it begins to yellow...then dye it! Unless you got it so cheap that a nice profit would help get another froggie you might like better. if so lmk

here's my 9900 WCCS in a special mix seafoam blue...I have a Dye thread in here somewhere

Lots of inspiration in that dyed jelly thread. I like the red jobs but don't think I'd wear that color. Your light blue/swimming pool blue is really appealing!

Hadn't thought to consider the color of the letters. Is there a special process to repaint them after dying?

    Keep the suggestions coming!

Nice pick-up! My advice would be to dye it black, but only after wearing it until it starts to lose its color. Enjoy it as it is for a while.

Really warming up to this watch. It's a different animal than a fullsize Froggie, without the wrist-tank presence, but the quality is similar.

    Thanks for the kind words!

Keep the votes and suggestions coming.
