For what do you use your G-Shock?

I think you could add one more answer for that question:

    Because I like it.

Please excuse my imperfect English :)

I don't think it's practical to wear a Grand Seiko (or other expensive watches) as a daily beater, or for outdoor activities.

I was bought my first one because I was a motorsport photographer and forever out in the rain, and my watch took a beating from the weather, the gear and countless safety fence uprights. The 7710 was perfect.

Nowadays I don't do that anymore so I use them partly for the robustness, partly because my daughter loves playing with them, and because they are fascinating to look at, watch and explore.

Their almost endless diversity and amazing valueless them endlessly collectable.

The 7900's are my favourites, although the 56s are currently my focus. But nothing is excluded, except pink Risemans.

I use mine for letting loose and giving my daughter a watch to play with. As OCD as I am, it's nice not to have to worry about scuffing it like my other watches. Kind of like a "watch vacation".

    Cheaper and cooler .
Nothing against Rolex, they have some very fine & nice watches, but the brand just doesn't float my boat. And the way it's associated with social status totally kills it to me.
