What does MT-G stand for?

I have thought that MTG stands for MeTal G-shock.
But, is this correct?

In looking at the face of my new MTG-910DA, it reads "MT-G".
Note the hyphen is between the T and G.

What does MT-G stand for? Is it indeed MeTal-G?

Now, why does my metal bracelet stainless steel G-7000D not get the designation MT-G7000D? Is it because it is an older model? Is it because it is not Wave Ceptor?

Thanks.

Hi James,

It means Metal Twisted G (-Shock). These models have high end polyurethane pieces in the metal bracelets.

In the MTG-9X0 models if I recall right (I haven't got one near now) the bezel and last part of the bracelet is made of resin. If I am right the first MT-G models had these metal twisted watchbands. I see I have non of these models in my collection, only with the upper parts and bezel out of resin.

(this watch is part of the Jurphaas Collection)

Cheers,

Sjors

THREAD RESURRECTION! Im the owner of a new MT-G 910 and came across this thread looking into the components. I found a site selling new bracelets for this model, at 68.00 a pop. Wow.

I didn't PAY 68.00 for mine (forumite)
