What happens with GPS capable G-Shock on 23:59:60 June 30, 2015?

Now that leap second information was received on my MR-G G1000D, I really wonder what happens after UTC 23:59:59 June 30, 2015? Would the watch's second hand pause for 1 second? Would it do nothing special and require another GPS sync to compensate for the leap second?

Now I really wonders... because if the watch doesn't really do anything for the leap second, then I wonder what's the point to receive the leap second information?

I can find out on that day I guess. Anyone know anything about it?

    Cheers

My guess is that the watch doesnt care about the extra second (ignored that info) and it will just be one second too fast until the next sync.

I don't know but it's an excuse to post a pic of my MRG-G1000B:

My guess is that it will wait for the next sync like eczajnik said.

Then I would wonder why it cares about the leap second information? Why not just totally disregard it in the first place?

How do you know it does care? Is this stated in manual or some kind of documentation?

In the manual it's stated that every ½ a year, the watch must receive leap second information, the watch will keep trying until it's done before it allows a normal GPS sync. And last night, it took me over 20 mins to just sync time, and it was first time I did a GPS sync since 1/6/2015.

In that case, I take back what I said. Since it's taken into account on a software level then your watch will probably pause for a second just as you described.

Take a video if you could and show us how it goes!

Or it could go to the extra second as 11:59:60 PM, which normally doesn't exist.

    Now THAT would be cool.

(On the dubious assumption that such timekeeping matters ever qualify as cool, that is. ;) )

As described here: Brace Yourselves: 2015 Will Be One Second Longer Than Usual

somebody outta be youtubing their watch at the moment before and after and have a regular digital sitting next to it so you can watch what is happening. it might do nothing though because the radio watches are not syncing continuously. it will just be off by a second and correct when it next syncs.
