Question What kind of G's do you prefer?

What kind of G's float your boat?

Is it "vintage" G-Shocks (definition on Sjors' site: 10 years old or more)? Only tough solar or waveceptor models? Masters of G? Cockpits? Special editions, the more obscure the better? Whatever you chance across and takes your fancy? Frogs?

I find myself leaning heavily towards the old models and their direct descendants, but I also like the sillier, funkier G's. Can't always buy what I'd like, but I keep looking!

    What's your take?

Personally, I have the greatest respect for the older g-shocks as I know they are tough, I've seen the abuse they can withstand underground and would like to find a couple of older ones, you know, for old times sakes, but these days, I would have to say that the frogman does it for me. I'm really taken with my Black Helios and my Brazilian. I think that they are exceptionally designed and for the size, very, very light and they wear extremely well. To me, they are fundamentally perfect!!...that would be my favourite g-shock...

    Hi Bugs,

I think all models released roughly between 1997 and 2000 are my favorites. These do not also include the Master of G series, but also the basic DW-6900, DW-002, DW-003 and DW-004 models. CHeck out my signature. Although just a basic model, I have loads of PM's and e-mails about this DW-003X-4T. A few years they were ewasy to get on the German eBay, but if now one appears on the bay, you can take a well filled wallet with you...(even in Germany).

    Cheers,

    Sjors

    Hi Kevin,

Only ALL-DIGITAL watches on my wrist and G-Shock make the toughest digitals with great useful features and looks and therefor for me G-Shock == the best digital watch.

I also like the looks of digital Nixon watches and Suunto's. :-X
