What should be my next 5600 Casio?

So I just ordered the DW-5600E.
Any suggestions on what shoul dbe my next purchase?
I was thinking about a G-5600 but hear a lot of stories about bad solar system/rechargable battery problems.
Also on my mind: DW-5600RE-2jf, with the recese display...

    Any other (5600-like) suggestions?

Does the new GW-5600 have the same battery as the G-5600, and the same charge problems?

I think these battery problems should be put into context. My G-5600 (although I haven't had it all that long) works perfectly, as does another and older G with the same battery.

I wanted a G-5600, so was prepared to take a very small risk. If it does fail in the future, I'll just get the battery replaced, as I would with a regular battery. All rechargeable batteries will fail eventually.

This battery is actually very common in Gs (it's in the GW-5600), and only a minority of batteries have been problematic. Casio say the problem is now resolved.

Like you, I really like /have a DW-5600E. This is just my work-horse watch, I wear it everyday to work and boy does takes a beating and it kepts on thicking. Recently I brought a new G-5600-1JF ( Japanese only model) I absolutely love it. It looks like the original DW-5000C, with the red out-line around the display. I was going to buy the G-5600RB-JF with the reverse display but was told it can get quit hard to read at certain angle/light and it not made in Japan. That said the G-5600RB-JF is a limited model. Before I brought the watch I also read about the battery problem too. I was asure that the japanese model (G-5600-1JF) used a different battery to the CTL-1616. There is certain difference between the two, firstly the G-5600 has five alarms/one snooze, but unlike the DW you can't set them to a certain Date of the month. The G-5600 has dual time, auto EL light, which when is on light up when you til the watch to your face (low light). Sleep mode, when the watch is leave in a dark area/place it switches the display off to save energy only to turn on when it senses movement. The G-5600 is also bigger than the DW-5600E, hopes is has help you in some-way .

Is it really? I never realised that. I've just looked up the dimensions that Boris gives (I can't find an 'official' Casio measurement) for the G-5600 - 48.9 x 43.0 x 12.1, and the dimensions that Casio give for the 5600E - 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4.

Do you think that either or both of these are accurate?

Is this true? So the G-5600 1JF does not have the battery problems that the GW-5600 and other G-5600 seem to have? What battery does the G-5600-1JF use than?

If this is true, and the G-5600 1-JF does not have a battery problem, that will be my next G-Shock for shure!!

Re: What should be my next 5600 Casio?

The module number for the G-5600 is 2597, and the instruction booklet says the battery is a CTL1616.

I've taken this from the manual for the 'DR' version, but since it's the same module (and indeed the same watch), it's also true of the 'JF' version.

    Relax about the battery...

I've purchased this 5600RC.It's a 2006 model and the reverse display is very legible. It uses 1545 module and i believe it's very characteristic...
