    whats this model?!

I wanted to get my fiance a watch, and she really isn't for girly watches. I was browsing g peopleland and saw this cool g shock with an anime character in the background of the el light
http://www.g-peopleland.com/Backlite.htm (have to scroll until you see it)
does anyone know what model or special edition that one is? If i can find it it will definitely be my next watch to buy (sorry hun, my new pathfinder comes first ) Seeing as shes an anime and manga artist, i think it would make a really great gift. Thanks and you are amazing to anyone who can tell me what model and edition it is

It is hard to tell with just the backlight on.

But models with animations in the background are normally limited editions which makes them hard to get or expensive to get. And some there are pretty old models too, if I am not wrong.

    How about this Gulfman?

It is limited edition and out of production and very expensive though.

Well, the owner of that site is a member here: Sjors. Being that he's a member here, I'm sure he won't mind me showing the pics. I'm sure he can tell you which model, if you show which picture it was.

    Was it this one?:

    Or this?:

If it's the 2nd picture above, that looks like a Frogman, but it's most likely a modification.

Did you realize that you can actually (with some work) put your own character into the EL? I'll bet with the right model, you could find maybe a favorite anime character, and put it into the EL of a watch of your choosing.

    Re: whats this model?!

    EDIT:

The anime character EL is a custom job as stated above.

    FYI:

The Background Pic on sjors page is a EL shot of the DW-9701K tidegraf (gulfman)

I really want that Asuka Frogman! So cool!
There are a few Evangelion G-shocks made but I don't know if that frogman was one of them.

So anyone has a tutorial how to make custom EL's?

    Re: whats this model?!

I don't know, i asked earlier but no one gave me an answer on a tutorial or "how to" i wish i knew how to. If i ever replace the battery or anything in my pathfinder i might give it a shot, but im looking towards buying a g shock in the future just to do a custom el and give it to kay, but darned if i can't find a tutorial. Maybe that g shock hackers handbook could do well with one ?
