Who here has gone to a Kikuo Ibe event?

Hi who here has been to a Kikuo Ibe event? I know they give away signed watches if u spend $$$$$, but does Ibe-san reasonably sign watches that people bring in (eg, sign one per person)?

The event I went to (at Topper Jewelers) there was indeed an autograph session where Ibe San signed personal items that people brought.

I went to such an event. And yes, Ibesan signs individually until everyone has left the room including the cleaning personel or he falls off his chair by exhaustion.

I realize I may have exaggerated just a bit.

I was at the Hamilton Jewelers event several years ago it was a small event where he spoke and a fun time was had with folks wearing and showing their fav G they wore. I prolly should have got something signed, but I've met so many famous and infamous people, autographs aren't my thing.

I think the standard signature by itself usually isn't really a big deal. Unless the person who signed it is no longer with us. But if you can get something special like a few notable words from the person then it's worth it. For example, I saw a James Bond book signed by Ian Fleming for Sean Connery that was cool. But those old books are expensive too. Even some of the higher end reprints.

the only time he wont sign anything would be if his handlers/promoters say no or if it conflicts with a "buy from the store, get it signed" deal. other than that, he signs whatever, whenever even if theres no signing table set up. take a pen just in case

im not really into signatures either, even tho it is nice to have a little momento of the occassion (i wouldnt sacrifice a watch for the sole purpose tho) i always much prefer using the time to chat with the person than getting the same scribble as 1000s of others.

Re: Who here has gone to a Kikuo Ibe event?

When I was at a signing, there were a few people there with multiple watches that they wanted to get signed. They took pictures of the signing as well. So it appeared that they had a commercial interest and intended to flip their signed watches. Never the less Ibesan stayed patient and cool and signed everything.

I almost felt bad for him and felt kind of guilty at my turn to ask him to sign anything. Instead I asked him for a wrist shot together and then I told him (via his rep) about F17 and SHOWED him (on my phone) one of our WURW threads. He looked at the pictures with a smile and expressed interest and then offered to take more pictures together and to sign more, so I took that offer.
