    Why is GX56 discontinued?

Is it due to low sales? limited edition? what are the chances of an reissue?

Casio uses the "spin the wheel" approach to discontinuing watches.

I can't really think of any other reason.

They did not really sell well when they were supposed to.. They started selling only after the rumors came that it was being killed off. So most of the sales came when it was already too late.

as for a reissue.. I highly doubt it, i was told that its dead for sure but who knows, maybe it will come back someday.. Updated somehow.. Maybe a KingMaster lol

It has to be sales. Or maybe the profit margins on that model aren't as good as they could be due to the use of Alpha gel. Who knows.

I just feel more time should be given to this uniquely designed G shock.
Models like DW5600, DW6600 has been going on forever with hundreds of variations, while only 7 for the King G, including limited edition.

Must be the sales figure... Maybe most people bought it over internet before seeing it on person. I know for myself that I probably wouldnt buy it if I saw it in store in person, too big.

Dont have one myself but I check online video reviews and side by side picture comparison, it is not much bigger than some of the newer XL sized G shocks. Maybe impression of huge size is due to the square shape and the attached strap?
Also researched a little on g-shock.jp, seems 56-1A and 56-1B is still in production?

Might have helped too, if they'd done more variants with a positive display!

Its true, it doesnt look that big on comparison photos, but its quite a diffrence once on the wrist. Looks similar to rangeman, but wears bigger and more uncomfortable for some. Same goes for GD400, looks similar size, but wears totally diffrent. Maybe because of big square case and strap thats fixed at an angle.
