Why Isn't Casio Represented on This Site?

I think it's a little odd that Casio doesn't have a representative who monitors this site, answers questions, etc.

I believe that it would make sense for avid G-Shock users to have a direct link to the company.

Not all companies are willing to put up with the relentless, differing, and always correct opinions

Is it common for watch companies to be on forums? I don't really read another sections of WUS so I don't know. I know that Citizen occasionally reads and posts on the SCWF.

Id be very surprised if Casio folks from different regions didnt browse here occasionally. However, a couple of things to bear in mind.

    Casio is a Japanese company.
Casio functions and designs come from Casio Japan and reflect the underlying strategy of Casio Japan.

I think its fair to say that the majority of users here are in the USA and Europe. Casio USA and Europe have little input beyond stock allocation to my mind.
For example, Casio UK might try to market and sell the new yellow GW6900. They order stock and put it out there but they cant request that time be visible in all modes.
There would be limits beyond marketing.

Having said that, alot of brands now use social marketing to try and engage with their consumers. Official G Shock Twitter feed might be perfect for nerds like us!

Not me. I've never yet understood why Twitter is anything other than the most extreme version of soundbite publicity. It's xxxxxx awful in my view.

The whole world is here posting messages.
If one Casio official (from one country or continent) answering some questions, it is possible that his answer is not harmonized with Casio policy for the country/continent the poster is living in.

    Just my two cents.....

That's a good point as well. There also could be users but they just don't say anything.

Yes, they should announce themselves for my benefit. That's because I am the only G-Shock user here. No one else would be interested in a Casio rep's input.

    Good answer!

    We know they do.

Every potential new model I've specced for them here, they've gone on to manufacture.

    QED.
