I feel like I’m going to receive the GB-5600B-1BJF for Christmas from the missus. Which is great if true, as I have rambled on about it a fair bit, but it means I can’t buy one until I know for sure...

The GB5600B is a little heavier and thicker than the usual 5600's, it's almost exactly the same weight and thickness as my GW5000.

thanks for the info. I don’t necessarily need the slimmest G-shock, just one thinner than the kings (shouldn’t be too hard!)

i like things with some substance, so a little weight is fine. I’m fine with a GXW-56 on my wrist everyday, but it would be nice to have something that is a bit more reserved/slimmer, and the GB-5600B’s functionality wins me over!

    GB-6900B-1:

Update on Android Nougat 7.1.1 performed. Officially, the app G-Shock + is only supported until Android Nougat 7.0.

The Bluetooth connection with the Samsung Galaxy J5 2016 has equaled. Phone, SMS , e-mail notification and music control also work.

Especially the music control was very important to me.

Re: Why the lack of interest on GB-5600B/6900B/X6900B Bluetooth series?

So my lovely girlfriend got me a GB-5600B-1BJF for my birthday the other day.

So far I love it. I enjoy the little weighty feeling it has, relative to its size. It’s not heavy, but just feels like its small package is filled solidly.
Now, I didn’t want this watch for the Bluetooth (it’s actually off), I wanted it for its supposedly good neg display and it’s vibe alarm. Both of which are pretty good.
Love the vibe hourly alarm, it feels like my Samsung when I get a text notification. I turn it off before bed and back on in the morning. I had grown accustomed to the hourly chime of my GXW-56, but the vibe works better in the office.

The new display is pretty good too, which I’m surprised at, way better than my neg GX-56.
At night I just hold the light button down and turn the Auto Light on, at day I turn it off. Very quick and simple. During daylight the display is good. The digits are slightly gold and they pick up light pretty well. Even with polarised sunglasses

One negative is that the bezel and strap are more plasticy than either of my kings, but the GB is my first normal sized square so I don’t know if it’s normal or not. Slightly annoying, but if there are better bezels out there then I can change them over

Like I mentioned before, I turned the Bluetooth function off because I don’t need it. I will be interested to see how the battery lasts, keeping in mind I’m unsure as to how long it’s been ticking away before I received it. No Bluetooth, but hourly vibe roughly 16 times a day, a few key beeps each day to turn the vibe on/off, and a couple of backlight uses at night.

All up, it is a nice little discrete watch that’s packed with a few abilities that I love. Really happy that I got it, would definitely recommend it for anyone that’s interested, bearing in mind that I have no opinion on Bluetooth functionality.

Why the lack of interest on GB-5600B/6900B/X6900B Bluetooth series?

I had a GB5600B. It looked cool and was a square but Bluetooth was horrible. Walk 10 feet away and it disconnects. You can sometimes receive call notifications and Reminders from iphone but not text notifications- what a disappointment!! Also i kept getting BATT alert. Changed batteries 3 times. All measured 3.6v which means new batteries. I kept getting batt alert after wearing all day and hitting just one button. The only thing it had going was it had vibe alarm. For the most part bluetooth was worthless combined with battery issue this watch was no good. And yes i reset battery multiple multiple times to see if that was the issue. I just ended up keeping my trusty GB350 instead. I found a thread where a GB350 had this batt issue also. Wonder if its related to the Vibe feature

Re: Why the lack of interest on GB-5600B/6900B/X6900B Bluetooth series?

An update is a good idea.

Since getting my GB-5600B it has been with me to Europe and Bali, plus general daily use. I still think it’s an awesome little watch, does everything I want and was so useful when travelling. After flying for 24 hours to Europe I loved that changing time was so simple, I’m probably never going to travel without a G-Shock again.
The vibe function was good, I have the hourly vibe set up and was useful on long-haul night flights where it didn’t disrupt anyone else.

The band and bezel is still a bit plasticky, but I can always swap it out for a GW-5000 bezel/strap if wanted. Although, being a harder material has probably helped keep its form, as it doesn’t show any bumps and bruises.

The watch now shares duties with my mongrel 5500MR (DW-D5500MR case and GLX-5500 module), depending on where I’m going and what mood I’m in. The 5500 is so bright (Fluro orange and positive screen) and the 5600B is so reserved that I have most of my situations covered.
Sure, I still want a really nice dress watch and love mechanicals (and spring drive), but in my daily life I want something that I can cook, swim, fly, work, get dirty, sleep with and disregard getting it hit, dropped, covered in something. My work and lifestyle dictates a daily watch will cop a bit of abuse.

G-Shock flame rekindled in me again after few years of break from it, so decided to get my favorite square again, bought from a member here. None updated module so it can't connect to my Samsung S5 running on Android 5,no issue on my Android 4.4 S4 and 7.0 S7 though, all my other GB series are with updated modules . I use bluewatcher app instead of CASIO official app as WhatsApp is my main messenger app.
