Regarding the module version, I can see some informations in the test mode of the watch (pressing adjust+mode+search simultaneously): "1402" in the upper right and "3419-5" in the lower main display. Maybe that's it?
on my 6900 there is no search button.
    Which one is it?

And how long do you need to keep the three buttons pressed?

On the 6900 it should be adjust+mode+start/stop.

Just press them simultaneously, you'll enter the test mode right away. You don't have to keep them pressed.

Thanks for the pic of your 6900's!

I've read somewhere that on the 6900's, the actual time is displayed in timer and stopwatch modes, can you confirm this? This is something I really miss on my GB-5600B and what makes me grabbing my DW-5600 for sports activities.

Just found this information further up in this thread, thanks for the info! I just tried it and to be honest, I can't see a difference in contrast when changing from "cont1" to "cont2"... do you? I left it at cont1, as it was.

Btw, I'm in contact with Casio at the moment regarding the module update (actually, they call it a "factory reset"). They still do it.

That's good news for module updates. As for contrast, yes it's noticeable to me.

    Regarding the module update:

I'm sending both my GB-5600B's to Casio now to get them updated. (I recently acquired a new blue one, so that one will ship with a copy of the receipt).

They initially wanted to get the receipt of the black one as well, but they agreed on updating it without it. Thanks Casio!

I'm curious if the module number in the test mode will change from 3419-5 to 3419-7 then, too.

Just wanted to share the info.

I received both my updated 5600's back from Casio and the module number indeed changed to 3419-7. They even changed the battery, replaced the rubber seal and did a pressure test, so it's 100% water proof again. :) Very cool.

In the meanwhile, I acquired an all-black GB-6900 and a blue GB-X6900, just like the two pictured above in post #174 :) Not sure whether I'll keep the X6900 (since it's quite huge on my wrist, otherwise it's great), but I really like the 6900 so far. Both of them are non-updated so far.
