Re: Why the lack of interest on GB-5600B/6900B/X6900B Bluetooth series?

I recently bought a used GB-X6900B (module version 6) and a GB-5600B (module version 5; a nice-looking white Kevin Lyons version). Unfortunately, I'm receiving frequent disconnects with both watches from my phone (Moto G5 Plus) where the Bluetooth icon on the watch would simply disappear (i.e. no Link-Loss, the connection is not re-established automatically).

I read about the different module versions and that a module update was only needed for Android 5. On the other hand, I also read about unfixable problems with Casio bluetooth modules when reading about BlueWatcher - unfortunately, the original link is down. Does anybody have any information on this?

    Thanks

Is an error in the App programming. The G-Shock app must always run in the foreground, not minimize the app.

Awesome watch! I love these models. It's like a basic square on steroids. And the LED is amazing compared to the EL backlights. I never worry about connecting as I don't care about a bluetooth function. Plus by not connecting it extends the battery life to 7-10 yrs :)

Hi! I've recently bought both the GB-6900B and the GB-5600B. I really love these watches and think they have better functionality than my GW-M5610, apart from the solar and atomic features.

I do see frequent disconnects, especially in places with lots of other phones, WIFI networks, etc. In the start I didn't mind because the watch would automatically reconnect to my Galaxy S9, but after upgrading to Android P, reconnecting only works if the screen on the phone is on. Always on display doesn't help, I have to press the home button to let the watch reconnect to my phone. I find this very frustrating.

None of my watches have the updated module. Anyone know if watches with the updated module also have the disconnect problem? Or, anyone know if there is a way let the watch reconnect to the phone when the screen is dimmed?

These are still supported with the older Casio app?

Yes, the GShock+ app still works fine.

Bluewatcher, however, started acting up recently and became quite unstable (on MY Android 8.1 device). It crashes (and therefore loses connection) every few minutes... 😞

Bluewatcher crashes for updated or none updated modules?
