Yes. But most smart phones can deal with multiple Bluetooth devices, so you don't have to.

If the casio app were coded well, this should not be a problem with the better power saving of Android 6.0. Only when the app wakes up the blue tooth (BT) it will draw power. I.e. when no app wakes up BT, it doesn't change run time very much whether BT is on or off.

You've certainly noticed the greatly increased run time of your phone when GPS is on. The phone only checks the position when it noticed with its acceleration sensors that it moved, when you're stationary, GPS doesn't draw power. With a properly written app to interface the G-Shock the BT would only draw power when it notifies the watch about an event (e.g. messages) or when you interface to change settings, sync time, and so on.

I'm.using Samsung S4 and recently switched to S5, frankly speaking i didn't notice any drastic increase in my phone's power consumption. I would think other apps are consuming the power rather than Gshock plus or Bluewatcher with Bluetooth.

True. But it also depends on Bluetooth hardware and driver design of the phone. My last cellphone (way before I even have a Bluetooth G or G-Shock App), just merely by turning on the Bluetooth radio without pairing with any other device, I noticed significantly higher power consumption. My current one is a little better, but still I can tell it runs down the battery a bit faster.

Has anyone tried the none X version of the watch with android 5.0?

I cannot find a gbx version in the uk and all amazon sellers on the us site don't ship to the uk. :(

All GB be it 5600 or 6900 A or B series has to be send to Casio for module update before they can work with android 5.0.unless you're lucky enough to get the newly manufactured ones. Btw ebay has quite a few gb-x on auction now,uk sellers.

I almost bought a bluetooth casio edifice. But I was worried about using bluetooth audio in car and the battery use. So I got the casio edifice EQS500DB-1A1 instead

Are the "newly manufactured ones." only the gbx range?
Just wondering if its worth importing a gbx if its likely to have the 5.0 upgrade or might as well by the gb version.

Is any version better in any way to the other.
I havent really considered the bluetooth gshock before now so i have not looked out for comments.
