Wolf in sheep's clothing: my first GPW-1000

An unusually wrapped package arrived at work yesterday. It was the source of some heckling from co-workers. I thought it might be a mail bomb until I saw that it was addressed from Asia.

Apparently this seller is some kind of a joker. Luckily his wrapping concealed more serious fare....

And here it is: the GPW-1000-4A

I'd been on the lookout for my first GPW-1000 for a while now. This piece, which had been difficult to obtain for a reasonable price, suddenly popped up on my radar last week.

I'm a sucker for gold and orange accents, and this color combination matched with the top shelf build quality and attention to detail were too good to pass up.

You can't go wrong with either. Here's my 2K:

I prefer the case shape of the 2K, but the dial of the 1K.

Thanks, Hein. By the way, I'm disappointed you're not posting wrist shots of your GW-5035A so I can enjoy them while I wait for mine to escape customs.

Very nice watch! The big bulk of these puts me off of actually owning them, but both are amazing to look at.

Congrats! I try to avoid the higher end analog G-Shocks. I live vicariously through you gentlemen, and your Gravity/Mud Masters. But good gravy your photos make it hard to not just buy my own. Please let us know what you think after you've had it awhile.

Thanks man. If there are issues with analog G-Shocks I'm pretty much fu*#ed.

Thanks Miklos. And yes, they are rather obscene aren't they?
