    Is it worth much?

Hi everyone, 1st post, so be gentle

I've had a few G-Shock's over the years, (one day i'll find out what they were) one that i still have is the one in the picture below.
I was bought this one by my then girlfriend (wife now), but never really enjoyed using it due to the black screen. (stupid me even chose it, must have been a moment of madness.) So it only got used for a week or two.
Well, after finding it again, and having a new battery fitted and the watch cleaned and inspected, i'm thinking of placing it up for auction on e-Bay.
Is it worth selling or should i just keep it?

I don't think it is worth much. Doesn't look like a sought after model to me.

That black screen is the infamous negative display by Casio.

It looks very similar to the G-Cools. I also don't think it's valuable, but it's a good, solid watch and I say... wear it.

I also think it is part of the G-Cool family.

Selling it is up to you but I don't think you will get lots, probably a loss if you bought it new.

I personally think it is ok, read the thread linked above first

Wasn't this the model Sean Connery used in that movie with Catherine Zeta Jones, Entrapment!!!

Is it model gt-001-1v? Sjors posted a picture here in this thread: https://forums.watchuseek.com/showthr...26172#poststop

If it is, you can post on the bay as the model worn by Sean Connery in entrapment. People who liked the movie and Sean and G-shock might consider it a collectors' item. If you intend to sell your other watches, get the model number and do a Google search to see if it is popular.

It's a nice watch, you should keep it if you can't get a good price.

Wink Re: Is it worth much?

I believe I have 2 or hree of these. I bought them for very low prices, I even think under €20.-. Although used in the movie Entrapment, where it looks really (G-)cool, it is a pretty unpopular model.

If I were you, I would keep the watch and wear it. I think the display looks very cool.

    Cheers,

Interesting, it is indeed like a G-Cool, and the entrapment usage makes it even more interesting!

Your's is easier to read though hoochy.
I tend to find that if you stare at the negative face, trying to work out what it says, if anyone spots you they think you're thick, like you're struggling to tell the time.

Here's another picture, close-up this time showing the dull look.

Even lit up it's not much to look at.
