Would you buy Limited Editions at retail?

This has been an interesting question for me recently. I have seen in the past two days several Mr. Cartoon 6900s ($130) and a Dolphin + whale 5500 ($150).

It seems these watches carry at very least a $50 premium over their unbranded "base" models.

Are they worth it? I kind of like the styling on the Mr. Cartoon, but I only paid $40 for my DW-6900MS. Is there another source (guessing ebay) for these models.
Not as clumsy or as random as a cell phone. An elegant timepiece for a more civilized time.

It depends if the watch sings to me or not. If I really have a hankering for it, I'd pay the extra bucks.

I think 'worth it' questions are impossible to answer. Many watches aren't worth it in material terms - but if you really want one, the price is the price.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

I just bought a DW-6900MRC-8CR, Mr. Cartoon on Saturday night below retail with free shipping and it arrived today. I think I was lucky because I actutally bid the retail price.

But it really depends on how bad you want the watch.

I would definitely buy it if it looks cooler than regular model.

Btw, what means Limited for Casio?
Limited as in limited time for production and once they stop producing it will not be produced ever again, or is there a fixed number of watches to be produced?

Some models are limited to a fixed number, but everything other than the standard models is limited in the sense that that they will only be produced for a certain (unknown) period.

I would only if I saw it and tried it on in person and LOVED it. I have bought G Shocks that I though would be awesome and once I got them I was not as Happy with them as I though I would be. This goes for limited or NOS. I personally don't think most LE's are worth what Casio jacks the prices up to.

I will never buy one in retail store unless i am really crazy about it.
last month in Bangkok i came across several Limited Edition watches in retail store but didn't buy them because they were more expensive than online stores.

    Never...

...G's in stores here are 2-4x the online price just for the standard models.
