    Would you return this watch

Bought a gw3000 through amazon. It was fulfilled by amazon but it came from japan. The watch was not wrapped with plastic and no hang tags came with it. The sticker on the band says gs1000. The watch looks like its new and works okay but I felt like I got a returned watch. I did receive a gw3000. The seller has 98 ratings feedback. I am ready to return it. Should I?

If it sold as new, then I'd at least contact the seller and ask them what's up.

But me, personally? Well, you don't wear the hang tag, plastic bag, or anything else, so as long as the watch works as it should and is in new condition I'd just keep it. But if you're ready to return it, who am I to stop you?

Your going to return it because of no hang tag and plastic wrapping... Serious?

It's not like the watch is that expensive and these items don't add any resell value.

Re: Would you return this watch

I agree with LankyOrangutan -- it seems like a lot of people here get hung up on the packaging, which might make sense if someone's buying a Rolex and plans to sell it after six months, but if you're going to WEAR a G-Shock, who cares about the packaging?

If the watch looks new and you're sure that it works correctly, charges correctly, and receives correctly, what's the problem? People return things for all sorts of reasons: don't like the color, recipient didn't like the gift, and it seems like every G-Shock on Amazon gets at least ONE one-star rating because it was "too complicated" for the buyer to figure out how the watch works. The Aviator lineup aren't small watches, so maybe it was too big for someone's wrist, or maby some of the smaller printing on the dial was too hard to read. The GW-3000 comes in multiple color schemes, so perhaps someone got the wrong one and then returned it minus some of the packaging.

Contact the seller, return it if you want to, but if you got a good deal on the watch it might be BECAUSE it was a return.

My issue is I paid for a new watch. Shouldn't I get a new watch with everything that came with it? I did check the watch using a magnifying glass and found nothing wrong with it. I paid 229 for it.

I don't know what prices they usually sell for, but if you can get one at the same price from somewhere else, and you're really going to let the packaging bother you that much, then return it. But I sure wouldn't pay extra for a plastic bag and stickers that'll sit in a cupboard or be thrown away. Just my 2 cents.

Re: Would you return this watch

Just keep it. There could be many reasons for the hang tag, but I've gotten several watches without the plastic bag. They were perfectly new, no problem.

If you want the bag, I've got an extra one.
    G-Shocks:

    GW-5000-1JF |DW-5600E | DW-5000-1JF (x2) <-Ya know...for backup...
    DW-5030 | DW-5000SL (x2) | DW-6900...something.

Re: Would you return this watch

If you plan on using it forever, just keep it. If you plan on flipping it sometime in the future, then not having the original tags may pose an issue. This is just my opinion.

I agree with you. You bought a new watch and all that comes with it. If those items weren't going to be included the seller should have disclosed those little facts. I for one wouldn't have purchased a 'new' watch without them, so I completely see your point. I would suspect that this watch was sold a first time, and the original buyer decided he didn't want it. Then he returned it after he pulled the tags...
