Which XL to add to the collection? GA/GD content

I (think) that I'm slowly moving out of dive watches back into G's and I've been eyeing these 4 XL size g-shocks. Right now, my main G is a GW-2310FB all black stealth. I have another DW-5200 incoming to keep my first company and just picked up a GX-56 in orange. I should also note that I'm pretty excited about the new XL 6900 models and would love to pick up either the white, jelly with silver, or the yellow one....

Here are the ones I've been thinking about and some thoughts. (pics via the interwebs)
    1. GA-100-9A

I really like the hands and how they pop on the all black background. My only concern is the shade of yellow. Sometimes it's called mustard. My ideal yellow (I think Casio calls it positive yellow) is on the yellow Raysman....

    2. GA-110RG

I really like white watches, glossy is the best, and love how the gold pops on the black and is a great accent. I think the legibility (actually reading the time) would be the worst on this one.

    3. GD-100RF

I'm not a huge red fan, but that's not to say I dislike it at all. I love the pop from the "eyes" and the green on the face, and yellow on buttons and letters. I am told red looks good on me. Not sure how good the negative display on this one is. I do think that this would be the rarer version and that I doubt I'd see anyone else with this G.

    4. GA-110SN

I love the green/teal color and how the white compliments the green. I think this is a great summer watch, but not sure for year round rotation.

If I missed a great GA/GD watch with some nice pop, please post pics!
    Thanks for your time

Well, I'm biased because I own it, but I stick a thumb up for the bumblebee

I own a yellow 8400 too and yes I probably prefer that yellow by itself, but the deeper, glossier almost dried mango tone on the 100-9 has grown on me and I find it goes with whatever I'm wearing better. It has by far the best legibility, analog at least.

I do like that teal colour - but if I did go for it it would probably be the Jason that is that colour rather than the 110 which is a bit too busy for me.

I own 3 out of the 4 you posted (no GD-100). Something you should about the GA-110RG is that is it not glossy, it is matte and can get dirty rather quickly. However, the face is much more legible over the GA-110GB. I also own the black RG model. I have yet to pick up a white glossy model of any that are in my collection currently. I get many comments on my skeleton green GA-110 when I wear it. It is definitely more of a teal color over a traditional green. This model is also matte. The GA-100 was one model I lusted after for a bit before I finally found one for a decent price. In fact, it was my first delivery of 2013. It is such a nice yellow and I love a glossy resin.

    I vote GA-100.

Why would you get just one?

Get the GA100, and then figure out the next. If you like it, you will like a lot of them ;)

    that is so TYPICAL!
this encouragement to consume has tricked me more than once...
the Hawaiian Devil has struck again....
that being said, he does have a point!

I do have the red one and like has been said, it is matte, which is what I like most about it.
there is also a red glossy alternative!
both are awesome and I have no regrets. I do find the negative one harder to read, but
then, why be in a rush to know what time it is, nothing to be done about it anyways.

Re: Which XL to add to the collection? GA/GD content

    Thanks guys!

Thought I would post some. First, the Haze I recommended.

    Attachment 1190551

Wonder twin powers operate! Form of red and blue brothers!

    Attachment 1190552

    Attachment 1190553

    There are more as well

    Attachment 1190556

And others if these are too subtle. :D

I won't post the Evangelions because I think that would be just mean.

Another forum member here (Dez) shows how great these are to swap bands and bezels and buttons as well. Then you can truly get whatever look you are after!

    I really like the XL's a lot. Wish I could find that banana tree photo . . . ..

    Chris,

Your attachments didn't show up, but you bring up something else I was thinking of is modding with adding/exchanging bands and bezels. Any cool mods in this way you've seen?
