YAY!!! my wife wants a watch for chrsitmas

Why am I posting here (and not in the general forum) you ask?

Well let me sum up her needs:
    "must have chrono"
    "must be easy to read/digital"
"no neon colors" (like I have bad taste, pfeuh)

What other watch can I get her than a G shock?
She also said "not too expensive" but when it comes to one's loving wife (and the mother of his child), the money option is just petty.
"Any other function is a plus, if it's useful": beware the quotes. What would my wife find useful? temp? compass? gps? mp3 and video?

    anyway I found this honey
    http://www.casio-europe.com/fr/watch...bg-2000bc-1er/
    which I find pretty cool.

One question is: is the display readable in low light (with it being white on black and not the usual black on whitish-green-lcd color). I know it lights up but still..

It costs about 100 euros... what think ye of the price/quality ratio?

    any ideas? fire 'em up

PS: this thread will auto-destruct the 24th december :D

Nice watch. Reverse displays are a bit harder to read in low light, but maybe that's not so important when the watch is as stylish as that one.

Asian or American sellers may have it for half the price. G=Shocks are (comparatively) expensive in Europe.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

A square watch is not that feminine, IMHO.....

IMO that is not a lady like watch at all. Best of luck.

    @ colt,

my advice is get your wife a "regular" g-shock, rather than a baby-g. those baby-g's are as dispensable as lady-shavers: you often pay more and get less.

there are plenty of good watches out there, however since you specificely asked for an "easy to read" display, my recommendation goes for the G-800BD-1V. its legibility is unbelievable good (the best I have seen on any digital watch to date) and it features the same great module that is used in the current mudman (G-9000) line but with far easier to press buttons. I don't know about availibilty for this model in france but here is a link from a german dealer which I bought mine from:

Haha...to be honest with you, I don't like any of Casio's ladies models except for this one, but I don't think it fits your criteria...

    This one's not bad either...
