    Yet another G-Shock Connected question/gripe

Just got a lovely black GMW-B5000. Installed the G-Shock connected app and nothing.

    LG-V20 running Android 8 on T-Mo

I just get a black screen with G-SHOCK in the middle.
Swiping down from the top gets me the G-Shock "waiting for connection"
Watch pairs nicely with phone, but the G-Shock app is still waiting for connection

I've uninstalled the app a couple of times, rebooted, un-paired and re-paired the watch.

Any thoughts? This is driving me nuts because it should be simple.

Have you tried just letting the watch search while the app is open, rather than pairing with the watch via Bluetooth first?

I have (and should have mentioned that in my post). The watch eventually times out with NG.

    I tried:

Pairing with app - results in no pairing
Pairing with phone BT app - pairs fine but app still is waiting for connection

I unpaired from phone, deleted app and rebooted between each attempt.

    Aaaaarggghhhh

You can't just jump into pairing. You gotta sweet talk, gentle touching, set the mood first. Then, then you might get a pairing.

Thanks for the advice, I think I should stick with mechanical watches.

Have you got a mate with an iPhone who is willing to download the app and let you sync on it? That way you would at least know if the phone or the watch was to blame.

    Good idea.

Does the app normally hang at the G-Shock splash screen until the watch pairs? I get nothing but a black screen with the G-shock in the middle, no buttons, no hamburger, no nothing.

It pauses but I wouldn’t call it hanging as it’s not for long enough.
