    Your opinion about PRG-270

Hello , lately I was very contented getting a rangeman but having a small wrist drove me back a little as my GD-100 already looks awkward . I thought maybe the PRG-270 is good enough I know there is bunch of protreks out there but this one looks more standard IMO the price is good too . What do you guys think ? anyone here can say good about the protrek 270 ? or maybe I should stick with the rangeman ? or maybe something different ?

The 270 is still around a 52mm watch IIRC. You lose the atomic time keeping as well. Between those two, I'd stick with the Ranger. Both are solid though.

PRG-270: Cheaper, bigger digits, a compass function you can actually see and use, Separate buttons for each function vs scrolling through one button for each function. I will say it; better lug design, less chance for breaking. Do you really NEED atomic sync? PRG-270 are new for sale on the bay for just over $100 all day long. The GW-9400 is closer to $200.

I had both. I sold the RangeMan. I turned toward Pro Treks for ABC functions.

If you want to save more and you don't actually need a Barometer then the Casio SGW-100 is a stellar watch for the money. It is not solar but battery powered. It is on the bay for under $50 all day long.

PRG270 is a good watch. I own one and a Rangeman. Rangeman is better.

I really like my PRG270 but it is the only non-analog watch I have had since the 1980s. I have fun re-calibrating the altimeter and barometer :) I wouldn't have gotten it but it was going for $75 on Amazon or Jomashop and I couldn't pass it by.

To me the PRG-270 doesn't try to be something it isn't. It's an ABC watch and a darn good one. Rangeman tries to hard with all the clutter on the face.

I have the PRG 270--3 different versions and I always liked the watch. I also have the Rangeman as well. I have 2 PRW 3500 models and really am fond of them. The 3500s have "tough solar" and are "atomic".

    Re: Your opinion about PRG-270

The Rangeman has always looked like a cluttered mess to me, and an excessively large one at that. My PRG-270 (or other Protreks for that matter) has stopped me buying G-Shocks. I still very much like my Gs, but Protreks are better digital watches.

    Re: Your opinion about PRG-270

the gd100 and ranger are pretty similar in size (footprint) their visual difference can be misleading. if you feel both are a bit big the 270 is def. for you. flatter and a less bulky feel and as mentioned here, if youre using the abc functions alot, you cant go pass direct access and that nice big, clear, uncluttered display. you def. wont be disappointed, esp for the price

    Re: Your opinion about PRG-270

IMO the PRG-270 is the best ABC watch you'll find for the least money from Casio. I have one that I paid just over $100 for. It looks very nice, and is tough, comfortable, and very functional. Hard to beat that!
