    your pick for this trip.

    California,Nevada,Florida. Possibly Vancouver/Seattle.
No rough travel, active but comfy hotels and car rental
Need a watch to forget it's there and tell me the time when needed.

Riseman or GW 5000 1JF,you name it. Just one of the two folks.

I would take the Riseman, so you have a weather-forecast at hand. And both are atomic/solar, so the Riseman has more usefull features.

GW-5000 of course . Modern technology with vintage looks. No-nonsense module. Riseman just requires too much button-pressing for 'wear and forget'-use. Besides: especially when travelling (but also at home) I like to wear a watch 24/7 (I don't want to fumble around in the dark for my watch in a hotel room I'm not used to, when waking up in the middle of the night and wanting to know the time) - the Riseman is a bit too bulky for that - I'd prefer the slimmer profile of the GW-5000.

I dont own a GW5000, but I took a Riseman to Argentina and it fared very well, definitely a go-to travel watch for me!

The biggest factor for me is you want something that you will forget is there and just give you the time when you need it. That is definitely the 5000. While the Riseman is more functional its functionality may get in the way more. Classic and slim go with the square.
