    **** JOMASHOP.COM EXPERIENCE **** PLEASE SHARE

    All:

Im relatively new to the forum (I've been a member for a week). This year, I've purchased 2 new TAGs from ADs and recently purchased a Baume & Mercier Capeland (MOA 10046) from Jomashop.com. The experience from JS was good, but some minor disparities for the website description and the actual watch leads me to believe it MAY not be authentic:
    1. The original description said it was a "skeleton" back, when the picture showed a solid back. They corrected description.
    2. The description sailed that this model has a black alligator band, B&M Company told me that is model comes with a calf skin strap. They also stated that this model is not available / sold in US
    3. JS description of the hands states "silver hands", when the watch arrived with Luminous hands

These MAY seems like minor discrepancies and I can live with them, but I want to ensure the watch is new/authentic and not a FAKE.

Can anyone tell me their experience and knowledge of the reputation of Jomashop.com

Thank you in advance and greatly appreciated

I haven't purchased a watch as expensive as tag or b&m from JS, but all watches I have purchased from them were great and authentic. Never heard anything but good things about them on WUS.

Don't see how we can tell if they're fake or not without some pictures.

Didn't you know what the watch looked like before you ordered it? I look at thousands of pics of a model before I pull the trigger, sort of assumed everyone else was the same. If the description of the caseback or hands were different I would have double checked that info with Joma before ordering.

I'd just return it if you are still able and find it somewhere else, that way you can sleep easy at night.

I've heard plenty of negative stories about Jomashop, but they were all related to slow or brusque customer service. To the best of my knowledge, there's never been an issue with authenticity -- they definitely sell real watches. I've only bought from them a couple of times, but everything was fine for those transactions.

I've bought from them. To be honest, I didn't even read their description. I knew the exact model number I wanted, so I just plugged it in. I got exactly what I expected.

As for authenticity, I have no reason to believe it isn't. I haven't taken it to an ad or anything, but I've seen no warning signs. It's also one of the new models. I doubt fakers would have had the chance to crank one out yet.

Their prices are good, but they aren't unbelievably good. They operate in the states and they do a lot of business. If hey were selling fakes, they'd have been shut down by now.

They are pretty big outfit, sounds like copy proof reading problem.

Bought two watches from them and both were exactly as described and in new condition. Buying from Jomashop is like buying from one of the well regarded New York Photo and Electronic stores. Brusque and to the point but they stand behind their products when asked.

It just isn't possible for us to verify the authenticity of a watch over the internet with or without pictures. If they sent you the wrong watch you should be on the phone with them getting a replacement or refund. In my experience, watch companies like B&M and Ebel make numerous versions of a given model and not all of them are available in a given market. You may have gotten a model intended for some other market. Or Jomashop may have reused the website description for another similar watch sold previously. Who knows.

Thanks all -- I like the watch. My curiousity is the result of first time experience with JS and the paranoidia of buying from buying from internet (after hearing horror stories -- in general). Again - great watch, no need to return. The strength of this forum is the experience and openest of the people like you that help ( people like me).

    Thanks again
