12-Hour Bezel, Where Have You Been All My Life?

I just picked up my first watch with a 12-hour bezel and can't believe how useful they are. While they've been referred to as a "poor man's GMT," I find them easier to read than my GMT just as long as AM/PM is not a consideration. I live in LA and set the bezel to NYC time, since I make regular work and social calls to the Eastern Time Zone.

Let's see photos of your watches with 12-hour bezels.

    They are pretty handy.

12-Hour Bezel, Where Have You Been All My Life?

I use mine to read elapsed times over one hour. I set the arrow to the hour hand after engaging the chronograph. Hours later, I can read how many hours have elapsed since I engaged it.

Funny, but my next big purchase is going to be that exact watch, both because it's gorgeous but more importantly because of the 12 hour bezel.

I love 12 bezels too. Wish manufacturers made a dive or 12 hour bezel option when purchasing.

Damasko offers that option on quite a few of their models. In fact, I was trying to decide between the Autavia and the Damasko pictured above. For whatever reason, Watchmann does not offer the twelve hour bezel option for the Damasko via the website. I suppose I could've emailed but the deal on the Autavia was too good to pass up.

I get a lot more use out of a 12 hour bezel than I do a 24, however all my business is done on US time zones.

I spent a few months obsessed with the Monaco. Visited at least ten TAG ADs in 5 cities in 3 countries on 2 continents, and just as I found a very good price on one, I spotted the Autavia in the same display case and walked out with it about 20 minutes later. Why? The 12-hour bezel!

I also love that Damasko offers a 12-hour optional bezel on some of their watches, and wish more brands did this.

For those who already own dive watches, any normal dive bezel will work the same. The 60 minute bezel divides very cleanly by 5 to get the 12 hours of the day.
