No! Turn back, before it's too late for your time and your wallet!!!

Only kidding (sorta). Welcome to the forum. I like your Swatch, good, fun style for your age but still understated compared to what other watch-wearing teens might wear.

To answer your Seiko question, yes some of their watches are made outside of Japan. You will see ones from Japan often carry the initials JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) in their product description.

Do a search on"mechanical vs quartz" and see what you think... There are plenty of folks who enjoy very, very prestigious quartz watches... and many who enjoy the romantic allure of the mechanical. It's up to the individual.

If I were you, I wouldn't dream of selling your first watches... Most of us here would love to still have our first watches... and you are in a position to actually keep yours!

    Most of all, enjoy!

Most of even the cheaper Seikos are made in Japan but some of the movements are made in Thailand or Singapore (not China, also some cases are made there)-it will say so clearly on the watch if it's not wholly made in Japan(Singapore movement/Thailand movement etc). The Orients are another affordable Japanese made watch brand. You can get either of the two for the price of your Swatch, but it will be of far higher quality than the plasticky feeling Swatch. It is good to get started on mechanicals, i had my first when i was 17, probably less than 1 in 100 wear mechanicals and most haven't even heard of such kinds of watches..

I do recall something about some being made in China - I may be wrong though.
